Patrick - I set my LeoWeb quick order up for 1 E-mini at the market, then all I change is the B for Buy or the S for Sell.

If I want to put Stops in or limits I change the quick order for that transmittal. To change any of these stops or limits one must use the detailed screen, the cancel/replace etc.

All of these Internet direct trading screens are somewhat confusing but I find that the LeoWeb with the quick order especially for the mini is quite good.

Now for trading the S&P big contract, the trade routing is different, so I can understand that no matter which direct trading one used, one may not know for sure what has happened in the interim to the fill confirmation. It may just be better to trade the big contract with speed dial to a good broker who has good access to the pit. At least that way you are talking to someone who should know what has happened to your order before you get off the phone.

Patrick,

The CME is behind the NASDAQ/ECN technology by so F#@%$^g much it is a joke! I could give you my personal horror stories with E-futures but it looks like you are experiencing your own. Anyone who says that Leo Web Tops/Cubs is great has never traded on the NASDAQ or through an ECN and just doesn't know any better. For me E-Minis are for practice on a new system or confidence building after a bad loss. I have the mini bid and ask at all times but there is no way you could target them (bid/ask) on a limit order. People who think they are getting good fills are simply choosing good trades. If they had a few losers in a row they wont be so full of praise for Leo Web or whatever EOS.
If you realy want to persist, As I said from what I hear BestDirect is the best. You key in your order, it pops up on a screen next to the pit, a guy reads it and speaks it in to his headset, it is heard by the floor trader on his headset, Floor trader fills it and speaks the fill price back to the guy at the screen, the guy confirms your fill. Good luck

John

Patrick, My US Bond net system goes long tomorrow and my best models went long today at the close. I took a half position long near the close today. It closes out a profitable short position, which I didn't participate in except through short call options. SP system is still long.
