To all:
While your chomping down burgers and dogs this weekend, please take a moment to remember those who have given their lives in defense of our country.
Thanks

Druss - Bane of Humanity

I must admit that I have speculated about the origins of Druss...but I have pretty well kept away from anything unnatural in those speculations. Now, I am not so sure. I have thought some terrible things about Druss when my rare statements arrive from Boiler Room Discount Brokerage and perhaps even said an unkind word or two - but it may be worse than what I have imagined.

A tale of Druss and reptiles...

We visited a crick (a tad smaller than a creek) in pursuit of bass and bluegills. This crick seemed to have it's fair allotment of various reptiles and things that slither. Druss seemed undisturbed by the abundance of such critters. Early in the day, he displayed normal behavior around the 'cotton-mouths' and even managed a few acrobatic moves when one would surprise him....even managing a 10 ft streak of walking on water - with rooster tails of spray when one slithered directly between his feet. Apparently, normal reactions...or as normal as a yankee can manage. Then it got strange...
Just before dark, Druss told me to go around a bend of the crick and fish the next hole. I walked around the bend only to discover that a recent tornado had blown timber across the creek for several hundred yards. Since it was so close to dark, I decided to return and get Druss and go to the truck. I noticed a terrble racket as I neared the pool that Druss was to be fishing. Unsure of what was happening, I sneaked through some tall grass so that I could see what was happening. Druss was surrounded by various types of reptilian/amphibian life and singing and gyrating amongst the snakes...Pleases to meet you...hope you guessed my name......
I noticed that the frogs and snakes seemed to be singing along. But then I noticed the totality of the the sound of the 'critters'. the frogs were contributing a bass 'DRU' and the snakes coming in with a hiss "SSSSS" combining for an evil sounding DRUUUUSSSSSS. And then I noticed the complete lack of fear....even kinship....that was in evidence. It was more than a delicate flower like myself could take...I ran.

Afterwards, Druss tried to tell me that I had been too long in the sun that day. Or had too many root beers. Or nipped a little hard on the 'rheumatiz medicine' during the day. Or a combination of the above.....but I know what I saw.

You decide. Solon knows.
