This isn't really Intel related, but it stemmed from an Intel Incident.

When Digital and Intel settled their lawsuit (It may be tough to remember because Intel settles so much! J/K) with Intel buying Digital's stuff, the FTC forced Digital to license Alpha-related stuff to AMD and Samsung.
