Look if you want to assume parents in mass said don't enroll my kid, that's fine with me. For any trial one is told as much as possible. They would be told your kid may or may not get an active drug. A placebo might be used. The term placebo would be explained. It might be explained that BPI occurs naturally in the body. That it has been tested on over 1,600 people with no harmful results detected. Why it is being tested and how it was tested on open label might be disclosed. I only know that to take a kidney dye one gets two or three pages of information and some of it says some die from the dye.

I have answered your questions explaining my logic. The point was to explain why I believe the vast majority who qualified for the trial did not have parents that refused, and thus there probably was not some large number of qualified kids that did not enter the trial. Please answer mine about why you believe parents would say no to a trial where agony and death are present. See jackies post.

We or many of us are simply reasoning out loud. I have exposed my reasoning. I am very aware that at times I am sadly mistaken. I learn from others all the time. Help me see why my reasoning is faulty.

Long ago, months ago in fact with this type of exercise I came very close to the concealed number of pre established mortality. So I at least find this worth while. The feedback usually allows one to re think what one has said.
