MCI WORLDCOM FALLS 1-1/8 TO 85-1/4 AFTER HOURS AFTER SKYTEL DEAL NEWS

NEW YORK, May 28 (Reuters) - MCI WorldCom Inc. <WCOM.O> shares
slipped in post-session trading Friday after the No. 2 U.S. long distance
phone company said it agreed to buy paging company SkyTel
Communications Inc. <SKYT.O> in a $1.3 billion stock deal.

MCI WorldCom shares declined 1-1/8 to 85-1/4 on the Instinet electronic
trading system, diminishing a 1-7/16 gain on the Nasdaq Stock Market
during regular trading. SkyTel shares were halted for trading after the
long-rumored deal was announced following the market's close.
