Tito--You and I have both been positive on AMAT for about 2 yrs now, but we differ on strategy. IMO, AMAT has done exceedingly well, fulfilling more than my expectations, while you have been frequently disapointed. My view has always been that a good company in a good industry will give a superior long term return. Too many random events make timing good for brokers and bad for investors.(My son is a broker)

More computers will be built, more uses for chips found, and competition will require higher investments to increase both productivity and technology. With their massive investment in R&D, AMAT should continue to give a good return.

This also applies to Brian's reading of Buffet's mentor.
