Last week I mentioned that TIMNA would be a late year 2000 product (or early 2001) as did the EETIMES article.

Let me update you on that.

My latest information is that Intel is actually MUCH FURTHER along than I earlier knew.

In fact, my guess is that Timna design will be completed - and tape out will occur before this fall.

Depending upon Silicon verification and debug performance tweaking, and marketing conditions, Intel could have this product ready in early 2000 - or mid-2000 at the LATEST !

Apparently the Israeli design team has made great strides in improving the design flow and integration of various "blocks" of existing designs - pulling in their schedule.
