>>If this is true it only means they are not going to build Rambus DRAM. It does not
mean they are not going to build computers with Rambus DRAM made by others<<

Therefore this fact (if indeed true) should be considered more symbolic than substantial? It sure has the short denizens of some other threads thinking RMBS may plummet on Tuesday. Guess the big shorts need a good heavy drop to cover... <g>

Stuart, I am not sure,, they were making a very strong case that the PC133 is enough for them short term, and that that will be followed by DDR Dram, and later they alluded in their "technology roadmap" to a new standard they currently call DDR 2. Whether the case they were making is solid or not, I am not sure. I am pretty sure that a lot of Caminos are going to be boxed in the fourth quarter, and if some of these boxes will have an IBM name tag, they probably are going to have "Rambus Inside".

In any event, even just the "uncertainty" could cause some wild gyrations next week. For the agile one, writing some $70 or $65 covered calls might be a short term protective strategy.

This might be one where clarification from Rambus is needed sooner rather than later, more rather than less, if you will excuse the phrase.
