May. 28, 1999 (InternetWeek - CMP via COMTEX) -- The Palm Computing
unit of 3Com shipped the Palm VII, a PalmPilot with built-in wireless
capabilities. The Palm VII doesn't connect to the public Internet but
to its Palm.Net network service, with customized Web, e-commerce and
e-mail services available. The unit is available now in the
metropolitan New York area for $599, with availability nationwide
expected later this year. Users can get wireless access in 260 U.S.
locations. Connectivity starts at $9.99 per month.
