I don't support the Republicans. That's an interpretation that you have because I favored Clinton's impeachment. I did so on ethical grounds, not political ones. More to the point however, I do feel that the Republicans are less wrong than the Democrats. I fear creeping Socialism far more than I do creeping Christianity. And contrary to what you seem to believe, the Republican party as a whole has become less religiously oriented over the years, not more. Ever since Jimmy Swaggart got caught with the hooker, their influence has, despite their best efforts, been declining. Add to that the fact that at the same time the socialist leanings of the Democratic party have been becoming more and more pronounced and, like I said, the Republicans are less wrong than the Democrats. I remember telling you this before, but, if I were to have to claim membership in any political party it would be the Libertarians. In reality however, I am ultimately an anarchist, so as far as I'm concerned, they're all wrong. You do express the problem with the Republicans reasonably well, but I would point out that if you went through and deleted every reference to religion and replaced them with "social engineering" and "political correctness" and such you would have a description of the Democrats. Both parties want to take your freedom, the only difference is the propaganda they spout to justify their respective power grabs. BTW, for every day that the frighteningly incompetent and corrupt Bill Clinton remains in office, the Democrats lose that much more. If he stays in office for the remainder of his term and continues to be such a blatant screw up, the Democrats will be hard pressed even to win in your much-vaunted California. You should have tossed him over when you had the chance. -BLT
