KZ, Ever notice how a columnist can write a book which is just a collection of his columns? Do think someone could write a book which is just a collections of si posts? I wish that SI provided better search engines. Lots of valuable history is getting buried under the huge volumes of posts. AMD just hit 60,000. SI is approaching 10,000,000 total. Scumbria

OT KZNerd, my guess is SI owns your content once it's published onto their equipment, however, I believe they are obligated to use your content as defined in the User Agreement (and in lieu of a definition, the implied understanding is for postings only, not books.) I think it would be reasonable for them to expect some compensation (royalty) for any material (i.e. book published) which uses your content they spend their money supporting, storing, sorting, etc. On the other hand, it might be unreasonable for someone to make a publication (i.e. book) without your/SI's consent since SI does not indicate (via User Agreement) this could be the use of your content, which they own. I suspect SI would be in a position to protect what they own and would do so in order to maintain good standing with members. Amy J
