No John. A digital TV is not necessary at all, especially in the current two box solution. When DTV becomes more prevalent, HyperTV will become a one box solution through the use of Picture in Picture. It's the digital STB that will be necessary until the software is included in the next generation of TVs. Hopefully, by that time, ACTV will become a standard and the licensing fees will be huge.

John, Please forgive me for using your post for the purpose of a demonstration, I am not trying to insult you, however your question may be used to demostrate, how you, (representing the general public) are not aware of the technology before us.

Its not your fault, its just proof that this technology is comming so fast and furious that most people have not yet had an opportunity to learn about what is going on.....

ACTV and others have got to do a better job of "putting it out there"

teach Joe Blow public about what is new and exiciting,

baby is crying, gota go, no time for spell check

cheers
