Well it appears that if they have filed the application, the Office of Thrift Supervision, the appropriate agency of the US Treasury Department that regulates Thrifts and to whom one would properly apply, knows nothing of it. Their database is current as of 5/27/99.

So you would assert then that the FBI has been investigating John Schmitz absent a filed application? Hahahahahahaha. Right. They have nothing better to do than investigate people that may file applications for thrift status. Hahahahaha.

Looks to me like someone is lying, and it sure ain't me, because all I am relating is publicly available information. Still scratching my head over what context you think is missing here.
