Ted,

Sorry for the non-response to your personal message. I've never used the message facility of SI, so I didn't even realize you'd sent me one (and you want my insight, are your sure about that).

As far as PCTR's concerned, I haven't had much time to dig any deeper. I'm still convinced that the power in their tech is centered around their messaging facilities as well as their SDK. It takes a lot of iron to support most current day multi-player net games. If PCTR can pull off support for the same with far less hardware (or no hardware), then they'll be well positioned to feed the demand of more and more multi-player net game developers.

I like what Sony and others are doing, but I don't see the game console makers killing tech like PCTR's. Of course, if I were a PC maker, I'd be very worried! Nevertheless, if you're going to write software for a Playstation or Nintendo, you've got to write to a specific PROPRIETARY API. Your software is not going to run on a PC. However, if you're writing software for a Browser, then it will run on any machine loaded with a Browser, including one of those next-generation consoles.

What's all of this going to look like 1-2 years from now? I've got no clue in the world. However, PCTR appears like a very good risk to me, so I'm playing it fully. At minimum, I could easily see those guys getting pegged to build the next-generation military simulation system. At maximum, the sky's the limit (sales, licensing, development, ???).

My understanding is that their product will be released into production in the 2nd quarter (very close). I'm hoping to have a good idea of the success within 6-9 months from then.

Good Luck,

JN
