KZ,

A possible good use for rambus would be as an L3 cache in a server. Imagine a slot card with Coppermine with a drdram port serving as an 8MB L3 cache.

I have it on good authority that DRDRAM is being used already for certain types of specialized caches.

KZNerd - Late Breaking NEWS on Camino !

I have just found out that the Camino does have an SDRAM interface - it's called the Memory Translator Hub and it connects SDRAM to the RAMBUS port on the Memory Controller Hub.

Intel is getting into HUBs in a large way.

I wonder if the City Of Boston will object?

For certain, it is PC100 SDRAM compliant.

I do not know if it is PC133 SDRAM compliant.

So, it would appear that Intel should be able to offer the Coppermine with Camino and 4X AGP, UltrDMA66 and SDRAM of at least 100 MHz SDRAM.
