dragonpawn, IBM may have a fast technology. What they are lacking is a fast design to build on that technology. Scumbria

IBM revolutionalize chip production by using copper as the base material, as a result it can produce chips much faster than the traditional aluminum chips. The base material is still silicon, even at IBM. I think you're referring to the interconnect metal.
