Brian, it appears Dan Niles is analyst in question. I've heard second hand that he's claimed Intel will miss quarter but not pre-announce.

Nice little ploy by Dan. Make his big prediction but won't be accountable for several more weeks. Gives him plenty of wiggle room.

INTC has been shown signs of weakness quite long time before, now
they downgrade after they unload enough.
