I haven't read the book yet. However, I was interested when you discussed disk drives. They have in fact become so small that are
being used in some digital cameras. They compete directly with SNDK's
Compact Flash(CF). I'm no authority, but I believe CF is winning the
battle. I think CF currently has about 60% of the market with most of the big names already committed. I don't know all the pros and cons
but there were questions regarding disk drive ruggedness,ie moving parts. Also, CF is removable and comes in many sizes (ie 4MB to 64MB
maybe 124MB by now). The price of CF is expected to come down to about
1$/MB soon. So SNDK may be the new Gorilla on the block.
It was on that basis that I started accumulating SNDK in 1997.
It has been roller coaster ride until very recently. I sure would like to hear
the contrary argument
