Disney and Mattel

A discussion of Disney might be appropriate now. The stock is down a lot and out of favor. I don't think there is any doubt it is in the Buffett realm. How do we rationally get to a buy price on this one? I have my ideas, but I'd like this to be a discussion. What is this business worth and why? I have a number in the back of my mind, but I haven't done the work to have conviction in that number. Let's do it together. I think that's what this thread is about - we can discuss what socks Buffett wears and the rules of a contest, but here's a high profile stock that just might be a Buffett opportunity today. Let's put some numbers on this and see if we can learn something together that might make us some money. I am NOT by any means saying buy the stock. I am saying we should do some thinking.

I would also love to hear some thoughts on Mattel. This is one I did buy at 22, 23, 24, 25, and 28 on the way up. It is now back to 25 and Wall Street is completely ignoring it - they're into Hasbro and Star Wars now. I have not seen a Wall Street research report on Mattel in the last month. I think this is a Buffett opportunity staring us in the face. Am I the only one on this thread who is buying this stock?
