No, I never said anyone who is getting a commission is screwing anyone. But getting 200 dollar commission is. Until Merrill provides evidence that its 28 year old geniuses can beat the SP 500, that 200 bucks will buy you the same product through Ameritrade, a magnificent 42 dollar comfort meal and a 150 dollar session with a very qualified shrink. In the end that's a lot better deal than the phony hand holding that these overpriced brokerages provide.
