Well can you help them?
If so, how?
A letter of encouragement?
Some flowers?
Oh yeah! Let's all send some money!
$3 each sounds about right!

Looks to me as though they like the selling the
kidney idea.

Ever heard of tuff love?

One has 2 choices in life.

Feel sorry for self and eventually get so depressed they kill themselves

or

Buck up and take charge of your life.

I am tired of folks that cry and ask for handouts.

this kidney thread is a reflection of all facets of life.

that you have chosen to champion this individual's cause

when all around you there are people in extreme predicaments

is a mystery to me.

how is it that you can step over so many weak and dying,

turn your back on so many suffering homeless,

eat your generous daily meals when so many are crying for food,

spend your money to have your teeth cleaned when basic medical treatment is beyond the reach of so many,

drive about in your car, singing with the radio on, while tormented, huddled souls wait in mental hospitals for visitors and love that never arrive?

what about these people? entire populations being persecuted? you're going to let yourself get all weepy about a half-baked incident on the internet? and adopt a smug, judgmental attitude while you're at it?

you're preaching.

just go do your good in life,

and quit telling others how they should be behaving and what they should be feeling.

i know what goodness i have in me, and what compassion i show for people. and none of it has anything whatsoever to do with having been told to be this way.

do you understand this?

hi V.
i understand your heartfelt response,
in all seriousness,
i believe that anyone undergoing
horrific pain and trauma
must not take themselves too
seriously....
and no one can know,
exactly the road they are traveling,
no one can truly understand where they are at,
no one can truly pass judgement on what is right,
and wrong for a person in a certain horrific situation,
people react to horrific trauma in different ways,
and for me to judge someone elses' journey is beyond
my scope.....

Sure, I feel for him...
but look at what he is concerned about...
His HOUSE
His CAR

MATERIAL THINGS.

Would people feel different if he said that he made an awful mistake and now he faces ruining not only his life but his families life?
I would feel a lot more sympathetic if he left the materialistic things he would lose out of his plea.

In despair he cries the extreme, and when valid advice comes his way...he turns it all down.

Faceless people sometimes can't help as much as one's family and friends in person.

Yes, I feel sorry for him, but I am more sorry that he doesn't try to reach out around him too.

>I am flabbergasted by the total lack of empathy and caring on the part of many
individuals on this board. **IF** this is not a prank, it is a very serious cry for help. I
would rather err on the side of offering assistance to someone in need than to make light
of what could be a desperate cry for help.<

My $.02. Personally I agree with Josef. 1) This is a joke, or 2)This is not a joke.
If 2) - Josef and TLC ahve extended sincere advice/support. In particular - Josef's crisis support line is the recommended fallback.

If this is all real - I am taken aback by all of K44's apparently non-negotiable conditions. I am further perplexed by his refusal to answer TLC's important and pertinent questions. These lacunae need to be filled for me to want to help. I mean - He won't sell property or go bankrupt. He wants to hold his job. Joe Copia has a good point that he's making indirectly - if these things aren't negotiable, then by definition the situation is not that serious.

I imagine the wags on this thread have looked at the posts and have found the seams in the credibility of the whole story. Thus the charitable! conclusion is that K44 is funning us, and this is a publicity ruse. If K44 is literally serious - he is also seriously deranged. At which point appeals to reason and humanity are in need of review, Jmho!

Ok. Let's go with this is serious. And let's go with there's an interested buyer not yet located. I invoke K44 to explain the operational course of action - with timelines - to secure the necessary funds in time to save his assets from the Margin Call.
