The US Postal service has us moron taxpayers to fund their short comings, I was told by the Austin postal service that they are a self-funding entity and have been for a long time. I know, I found it hard to believe too but this was in the context of negotiations for Dell so it wasn't just a flippant comment from a postal clerk. He said the postal service was deregulated in the 70s and that coincided with the inflation in stamp prices. They used to be 6¢ he said prior to deregulation.
