They were highly unrepresentative, to say the least, so it is ridiculous and self- serving to treat them as if they were anywhere near typical...

Gore Claims That Religion is a Big Part of His Life

Vice President Al Gore, who has vowed to 'take
God back' from the Religious Right is claiming
that religion is big part of his everyday life. Gore
told our BNN Campaign 2000 correspondent,
"Religion has been at the center of my life ever
since I was a kid. I remember reading the entire
Bible at least six or seven times before I
graduated from High School. I found the stories
in the Bible to be both enlightening and
inspirational. One of my favorites was the one
about how Mohammed found some golden
tablets in the forest and translated them into the
Watchtower Magazine. Another story that meant
a lot to me was the one where Moses was walking on the water and was swallowed
by a big fish. But my all time favorite Bible story is found in the Gospel of Hezakiah.
It's the story of how Buddha was crucified for his sins. That one gets me every time I
read it."

Leaders of the Religious Right have refused to respond to Gore's latest claim. Said
Presidential hopeful, Gary Bauer, "The Vice President's comment speaks for itself."
