Richard, Since Gonzongo quoted TASC(Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities) magazine, I thought I would quoted myself. I have volume 15 which includes all issues for 1997. I looked up the index for the word "Oscillator". It has hit on pages: 55, 125, 306, 353, 423.

On page 423 the title of the article is "The Relative Strength Index(RSI)". It was written by John Sweeney who actually works for TASC. On page 423 and under the heading "ONE OF A CLASS" and I quote the word CLASS, Sweeney opens his paragraph with the following statement:

J. Welles Wilder's relative strength index is one of a class indicators know as "Oscillators".

On page 353, Tom DeMark has written an article titled "The TD Range Expansion Index(TD REI). On page 355 and in big bold letters highlighted Tom say the following:

In most trading range markets, oscillators work well. ...

In the above statement the words "oscillators work well" assume that you know what oscillators are. I have been a subscriber of TASC for two years now and I have read many articles on oscillators. The definitions I gave you were taken from Elder's book "Trading for a Living".

I also have a book called "trading with oscillators" written by Mark Etzkorn. He covers momentum, ROC, RSI,and Stochastic among other things.

It seems that every one talks about oscillators including TASC, authors that write articles for TASC, Sweeny who works at TASC, Tom Demark, Mark Etzkorn, Elder, Murphy, Pring, and you are asking me to forget about them.

This thread asks experianced people to share knowledge with everyone. If you do then it seems some people have problem with that. This is becoming a waste of time.

Good luck everyone.

Christopher

Good Job!!!!!!

I'm really surprised you hung in there so long with this jerk.. It is so obvious that he has never traded a day in his life it's pathetic... He is a reader, not a trader....

I was ready to come back and start posting again BUT, I do not have time to waste on this BS.... It's just a shame that the Boards we created so many years ago have turned into a platform for the mindless.....

When they leave I'll be back.....

Nice post Richard.

As far as buying at bid and selling at ask... I have sold an issue at the high of the day before... why would a market maker do this?
