OT OT OT... my last comment on T. The recent digression we've had was based upon your statement that T didn't have a chance in the local markets. My opinion is they'll be a big winner long term.

BTW: You're earlier assumption that AT&T's access to customers isn't leveragable is greatly flawed. CMCSK already signed. the UK is a near lock. You can discount the 32M users but you certinaly can't elimimate them. Couple this with the additional assets that T gets and your per subscriber calculation is ludicrous. Nuf said... time for me to move on...

No one knows the future. 2 years ago, I made my bet on Lucent, and today, I am making my bet on AT&T. But I think Lucent can keep its promise of 20% growth irrespective to the success of AT&T's gamble. AT&T is certainly a big customer of Lucent's. But how much cable equipment does Lucent sell today? I don't know, probably not much. No matter which one of xDSL, cable, and wireless becomes the future for telecomm, Lucent will win; It provides solutions to all of above.
