In my opinion, despite the fact that we have been talking about Y2K for a couple of years, the general public still is not aware of it, or of the implications. I did see two books on the topic of how to prepare for Y2K at my local Costco, which, as you may know, isn't a book store, but a warehouse-type wholesale-type distributor. They sell few books, and the fact that two of them are now being sold at Costco indicates to me that demand is just now starting to build.

Even if the difficulties are imaginary, I predict that scare-mongering and hysteria will cause almost as many problems as Y2K computer related problems may, or may not, cause.

Nick, Many thanks, these Y2K stories are the real deal, I find them
very compelling , I see that you had mentioned McMaster's and his Reaper newsletter. I remember seeing some of those letters in 1986 in Sydney Aus.when I was a futures Broker for Richardson Mann.

When the AUD fell like a stone and the Treasury Sec. Paul Keating made his famous "Aus will soon be a Banana Republic" quote ,

Bibi deMalmanche who I worked with at RM, drew an outline of a Flag on the Whiteboard and taped a banana to it...... -g-
