Thanks for your response. The stock is ASTM and the short interest has not changed very much in the 11 months since the preferred shares were issues.

There is no way that the investor has shorted his entire position at the current short interest has hovered around 20% of his total potential position for many months.

I also think this investor would have a lot of trouble on his hands if he used offshore naked shorts to hedge as I believe this investor can be directly linked with a major market market in this stock.

I am long, so I am hoping that this investor is planning to convert and go long too. Interesting that this investor just agreed to buy 3000 more preferred shares (in addition to the 5000 original shares) with the current price at 1.5 This makes no sense to me as the profit on shorting at this level is very small.

Any other thoughts?
