<<Much of Dell's "problems" are the result of unreasonable expectations from investors with insane views of how the markets work. It is impossible for a stock whose earnings growth is around 40% per year to triple year after year, all other things being equal. It makes no sense. And yet, folks like you are calling for Dell's head because he hasn't pulled off the impossible.>>

Chuzz: I totally agree. MSD is a MUCH more effective CEO than most high tech CEOs will ever be (and he's only 34). DELL is growing into its valuation and is temporarily a victim of "the expectations game." I truly believe that DELL will announce some major new alliances that will significantly increase their sales and earnings growth rates. Yet, MSD has chosen not to play the spin game (ala Gerstner). He must have his reasons...and I am not giving up on him. I will admit that I sold some DELL when it was near $40 in order to diversify more. Yet, IMO DELL will continue to be a great LONG TERM holding. It's interesting that two of the TOP PERFORMING Fund Families (Janus and Legg Mason) still have DELL as one of their top 3 holdings. Hmmm.....They tend to be pretty shrewd LONG TERM investors.

Have a Good Weekend.

Best Regards,

Scott

So in essence Dell is undervalued relative to it's large cap brethren???

Anyone calling for MD's head is not rational. He has created this "gorilla".

Chuzzlewit, you last posting to Frank was well put. I think part of the concern is that Michael Dell has been conspicuous by his absence. There was just an article in the press on how Michael is planning on taking market share from Cpq now that Cpq is in trouble. I think he could have easly gotten air time on CNBC, or CNNfn and turned his announcement into a media event.
