I still think a lot of us are on this board for fun.

Should we be in index funds (if we choose to be in the market)...

i think the answer on avg. is yes...

Is Jack Bogle incorrect ? only a small % of funds beat the index...

Most people at my discount brokerage lose $, and that is in a bull market, are the people on s.i. any different ?

who among us, should we choose to be in stocks at all, is a better picker than Warren E...

i am mostly out of equities, because , besides y2k worries and overvaluation models from Yardeni, et al, the few geniuses of the market are pretty much saying to be out, i.e Buffett, Templeton, and even Jimmie Rogers...

most people are very average and cannot or will not beat the market, but beat ourselves...the ones that do beat the market around here, do not put out newsletters as such...therefore if I want to copper YOUR bets, i still won't know how much to put on MU versus schwab...

My conclusion is this...

we are here for fun,and the hope that we can take some money out of Mr Market...but I will say, if the kahuna hits and we go back to 4K, when and if i reenter the mkt in a bigger way, it will be thru an index fund...
