To JGoren: Hey to say the Q is like a bank is similar to saying GE is like a bank. (Actually GE is like a bank :-)) But GE is much more than a bank. And the Q is much, much, much more than a bank. What bank has a lock on an enabling technology that has sky is the limit future (even the sky has satellites using the Q's technology).

To put it that the Barron's interviewee has a narrow view is clear, but I would suggest that simply wrong is closer.

But my skepticism of any of the Dow Jones crew and their agenda, especially re the Q, is deep and based on years of experience.

As always, just IMO of course. And my wife reminds me now and then that I am not always right.

Chaz too

<<He was referring to the royalties and chip revenues that will be coming in. How are they going to be reinvested in new businesses and R&D so the company can stay ahead.>>

JGoren: Seems like a wonderful *problem* to have, no? The question (and answer) is: Has management and the BOD done a good job to-date of identifying and acting on opportunities, including R&D? I think, yes. I presume they'll continue to do so unless evidence to the contrary.

Regards

Re : He [the moron interviewed in Barrons] was referring to ...

I have a different theory -- given this person's intellectual capabilities, he probably thinks that Qualcomm gets big revenues from Qualcomm Stadium peanut and soda sales.
