i don't know alot about the decision making in deciding whether to issue a split but i wud like to see one to add liquidity and tame the extreme moves this stock typically has. as i said earlier a 10 dollar swing in a day isn't unusual but sure causes alot of heartburn especially when there is no hard news to justify it. not that i expect to actually see one so soon after 4/99 but if i know the factors that go into the decision then i can at least better understand the case to be made...about the light message volume, well what's changed in terms of price, events, or behavior? nothing..it customarily moves alot for no apparent reason and the smart move is to buy below 85 and hold on til >140...no different than the last 3 months... maybe if the Kosovo conflict does end tomorrow optimism may cause a general rise on monday....other than that i just see sideways action this whole month waiting for the FOMC decision on 6/29.
