I am not sure I understand the dilema. <<What does that tell us about The Divine Programmer, if there was one?>> It means nothing to me. I tried to characterize the male as the supreme male willing to sacrifice all for his offspring and to satisfy his mate. I was of course joking because I think your problem with this is how it reflects on our (human) values system. Let me try a more serious approach. In Christianity they say God created man in his image. Some christians then interpret this to say God is a "creature" like us and characterize God that way. Now if this is your frame of reference I think that I can see you are leading too. If a man were to create a video game where some monster wins by devouring its mate, that would be pretty bad. So if God is like you but he goes around creating things for us to get life images from like the widow spider, that's pretty icky. I am just trying to figure out what bothers you about it. Am I close? That is no where near my idea of Allah btw.
