I also wondered about the non-promotional weekends ( I haven't received a flyer in weeks). My guess is that since they have a limited ad budget, they time them. Since it is the beginning of summer and people are thinking about BBQs, beaches, vacations, yard work, etc., they don't have a lot of sales since people are busy with other things. I would guess this is based on past experience.

Visited my local CompUSA yesterday morning. Year end Physical Inventory had been performed earlier that morning. Grabbed the (almost) weekly ad. Most items were at regular price. Most deals were rebate oriented, with a very limited amount of real price-off promotions. Walking through the store I was unable to locate those eye-grabbing sales signs. Customer traffic was better than I would expect with not much really on sale.

Where did the DVDs go? The section dedicated to DVDs was gone! Filled in with CD-Rom drives and other various hardware add-ons. The endcap with DVD players and a TV was still there, but was out of service. Maybe they moved the DVDs just for inventory purposes. Hopefully they were packed up and returned for full credit. Anything to help the 4th quarter's bottom line.

Only two weeks to go. Still waiting for the big blowout sale!
