And I missed you! We did have fun; our boys are the best company! Unfortunately it rained the whole time--- we came back paler than we went. I did read Morgan's Passing (Anne Tyler) and am going to mail it on to Gaugs-her way of looking at people reminds me so much of him- have you read that one? Her characters belong on DAR. There was an improv group on board and the boys were fascinated. They went to all their shows (three a night- I gave up after the first three) Now they're planning their own group. We also spent a day at Universal Studios- LOVED it!!!!!!!!! Movielover's heaven. There is a show about Hitchcock..they show all his best scenes and they reneact the shower scene from Psycho--- did you know film students still study that scene?--- and CW was The Star. We got to sit up front and he made an appearance on stage! As Momma Bates stabbing poor Janet in the shower! In a dress and wig. We were so proud. Best ride of the day- Spiderman. Combination 3-D, ride, simulator, special effects- I stood in line for it three times, sopping wet from the log ride, adrenalin coursing through my veins. I really love those rides. Two men in back of Ammo and me had a small child, maybe two years old at most, on Spiderman. I was indignant. This ride is scary!!! 3-D things come flying out of the picture at you, there's fire and smoke, and the car jiggles around and tilts and spins, and then there's a freefall off a building that feels so real and water that spits at you and bricks that hit you in the face almost. I thought the ride people would stop them, but no, they got on our car. Then we thought maybe they wouldn't put the glasses on Michael,(by now I was heavily invested in this child and knew his name) so he wouldn't think The Scream was trying to tear his throat out, which it feels like, but no, they put those glasses on his little face. I'm muttering loudly about motherless children and irresponsible fathers. I-I-I would NEVER subject a small child to this torture. It could cause nightmares for life. Through that whole ride (one reason I had to ride a third time) I kept listening for hysterical screaming from the seat in back of us, but all I heard was the two men yelling and hollering. I figured Michael had fainted in terror. As we got off, I heard this little voice, "Do again, Daddy!" I think there's a lesson in there about men and women caregivers.
