ICON plc is a contract research organization (CRO) which provides clinical research and development services on a global basis to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. For the six months ended 11/98, revenues rose 46% to $43.9 million. Net income rose from $1.6 million to $3.8 million. Revenues reflect increases in revenues from existing clients and an expanded customer base. Net income reflects improved staff utilization. They just reported earnings today.
