The stock has bottomed out. Their operating system is coming back in a big way. There is a lot of dissatisfaction with Win 95. They will introduce COPLAND in Jan. 97. This system is twice as efficient as Win 95 and MacIntosh. This new system will include CYBERDOG their net navigator which is so far blowing the doors off Netscape and MSn in prerelease reviews. IBM and Motorola are now developing extensive product lines (desktop, laptop, Cable access, etc.) under COPLAND, the POWER PC chip and it supporting software. Sony is now talking with Apple about a PowerPC, interactive video, low-cost educational laptop for schools. Apple is also on schedule to be the first in the marketplace with the new LCD flat screen monitor. If you read between the lines, IBM wants revenge on Bill Gates for cutting the deal on them in the 70's for Personal PCs. IBM at the time thought Main Frame systems was were the money was going to be. Gates got the agreement to take over the Operating Systems in IBM PCs which at the time were a very small division. This deal is viewed as the demise of IBM in the late 80's and early 90's. I can see Apple coming back with the same vengeance as IBM. It's not a quick one but they will be back on the 70-80 range by this time next year. Anyone agree? | ||||||||||||||||
