Thermal Dynamics is a privately held R&D corporation in central Iowa. Joint Venture partners are currently being sought. Thermal Dynamics will soon incubate and spin-off a number of high-technology motive power, prime power, and ancillary component joint ventures. These new entities will probably provide IPOs for public participation - based on their "..Terra Tek.." power systems and components.

Their new technology has basically rendered all of the current versions of INTERNAL COMBUSTION GASOLINE and DIESEL ENGINES "..totally OBSOLETE.."!!

There are five major components of the Terra Tek system:

1) Terra Tek Short-Flame Technology Burners, incorporating patented and here-to-fore unseen modifications and attributes compared to typical burners. This permits these new burners to molecularize a multitude of fuels and achieve near total combustion, significantly reducing byproduct and particulte pollution.

The current demonstration model creates a 1-1/2 Million BTU flame in approximately 8 inches - using typical liquid and gaseous fuels. It is also capable of handling micro-ground combustible fines such as coal, grain dusts, sawdust, and biological animal wastes.

EPA tests have shown by-products of combustion and particulates are well below their permitted levels for all fuesl tested to date.

Our latest modularly designed 6.5MM BTU burner was assembled and tested the week of 14APR02. It ran successfully the first time, and will be the model for all of our future units - large and small. In the near future it will be sent to an independent testing laboratory for a full battery of environmental and performance tests. This is a major milestone in our ongoing development.

2) Terra Tek High-efficiency Hot Fluid Reactors (..pseudo-boilers..) convert the short-flame energy from the burners into high-pressure hot fluid, which is immediately flashable into steam in the input (power) chamber of Terra Teck turbines and Link-&-Sprag motors.

3) Terra Tek High-efficiency, Postitive-Displacement Turbines are a unique and patent-pending design, capable of handling liquids or steam as a driving medium. They may be used equally efficiently as motors or pumps/compressors. Their internal design is symetrical so it is possible to reverse their direction at any speed.

The most important feature of the Terra Tek turbines is that they will produce near 100% torque at 0.1 RPM. 100% output shaft torque can also be continuously maintained from 0.1-to-6000 RPM. Although classified as a vane-type turbine, the special patent-pending design attributes of the Terra Tek units result in no energy loses by the interference of the vanes that are just entering the power chamber in either forward or reverse mode.

4) Terra Tek High-efficiency, Postitive-Displacement Link-&-Sprag and Variable-stroke (craskshaftless) Motors have several special design attributes. First they have no crankshaft per se. All the input energy is applied to the output shaft via a link-&-sprag assembly which operates at the maximum perpendicular quadrant and force-arm distance to the output shaft They are also a variable-stroke motor, so only the exact amount of energy required to rotate the outpout shaft at the desired speed and torque is used.

5) Terra Tek High-efficiency Condensers, are specifically designed for modular, lightweight installations - especially in vehicles. The condensers reduce the steam discharged from Terra Tek motors and turbines back into a fluid for redelivery to the system's Hot Fluid Reactor.

The capability of the Terra Tek turbines to produce 100% torque from 0-to-6000 RPM means that vehicles in which they are installed will NOT REQUIRE a transmission. Single-ratio speed reducers or designed-for-the-operating-range turbines will be used to match tubine speed range to the performance requirement of the driven load. Likewise, differentials and axles may also be superfluous.

For 2-Wheel-Drive (..front or rear..) a Terra Tek turbine can drive a differential and axles to two wheels, or that weight-intensive arrangement may be dismissed by placing a turbine at each wheel.

Consequently, 4-Wheel-Drive (..or Many-Wheel-Drive..) may most economically be achieved by locating turbines at each wheel. Porportional valving and modern traction control eliminates the need for all the typical energy-robbing axles, half-shafts, universal joints, constant velocity joints and associated bearings.

Vehicle weight savings will be extraordinary, yet power and economy will be increased. The heavy internal combustion engine is not needed, the heavy heat-generating transmission is not needed, the radiator, catalytic converter, mufflers and exhaust systems are no longer needed, either. A major portion of the typical frame and suspension bulk may therefore be reduced accordingly.

A modified mid-sized American pickup truck will soon be available as a system demonstrator. The former engine compartment is now trunkspace, the transmission tunnel now houses the burner and hot fluid reactor. In the future, the transmission tunnel may be converted to cab storage space, as the complete Terra Tek power system is located under the truck bed and along rocker panels.

Interested parties may contact the company via a "PM" to the writer; simply click on my name at the top of this discussion.

Engineering, experimentation and innovation are wonderful things, and one should consider that some of the ideas of James Watt, Robert Fulton, Ben Franklin and Thomas Edison seemed a little far out at the time also.

"...Technology rules..."!!
