==>My Facebook " Investing for the Long Term" group with 4,239 members as of 3/31/25.

This is my Silicon Investor board where I will post charts, ideas, rambling, newspaper clippings, etc. that are investment related (stock market, housing market and US economy.) I welcome all investment related discussion but please hold politics to a minimum.

==>2025 was
another great year!

My Explore Stocks gained 52.0% while the "Explore Portfolio" overall gained 27.5%, crushing the fully invested S&P 500 while my portfolio was about half in stocks! Trading around core positions, exceptional stock selection and a large cash cushion led to the great performance.

Past performance does not guarantee future results.
My Best Stock Gain in a single day was INKT on 7/11/25:

I took profits THREE times that day in $20s, $40s and $60s!

Timer Digest ended publication in early 2021:
I made their cover twice over the roughly 11 years they covered me.

The company II-VI bought Finisar, then Coherent. After buying Coherent, it took the "less scientific" Coherent name, but the management was from II-VI which had just successfully integrated the Finisar acquisition. I used the similar weakness in the stock after announcing the acquisition to load up on more shares (mostly in my ROTH) which have done quite well for me as well as my newsletter subscribers.

  2. T echnical Analysis of Stock Trends
    Edwards and Magee is considered one of the bibles of technical analysis. I use it often to help me pick buy and sell targets for stock in my newsletter "explore portfolio."
