Lots of talented people on SI, why not show off? 1. Post your best photos here. One photo per post. 2. Recommend others people's photos that you really like. 3. I'll start adding the photos with at least 5 rec's to the header, to a maximum of 50 photos. 4 If the thread gets a following, will probably have to raise the number of recommendations to get to the "Header Gallery". 5. After there are 50 photos in the header, will just move them up based on the most rec's. I'm pretty busy, so at some point this could become tedious and I might pass the moderator responsibility to someone else. Just thought it was a good idea... something I would enjoy. BTW, feel welcome to include any when, where, why, with what at which exposer, or nothing at all. Sometimes the details make a photo special, and sometimes they stand alone much better. And... The SI Gallery ========================================================== August morning on the Gulf... ========================================================== I salute you on Memorial Day . All veterans, who served and are serving , in all branches. ========================================================== Weird the way people will love a photo you took, and you just don't get it. ========================================================== Who needs a chainsaw? Just chew on it and it will come down...eventually... ========================================================== Shot the bird, just barely before he/she got out of the frame. ========================================================== Charlie AGAIN! ========================================================== Charlie... ========================================================== Foggy morning hiking on the Island. ========================================================== Favorite instagram of a few of my favorite "things" - snapped on the old iP4 Lewis Bay on Cape Cod A ferry headed in to Hyannis harbor (distant center) My winter Sperrys that are great in the summer And the best thing - my 10 year old lab, chill'n after some low tide sea gulls chasing ========================================================== I hit pause while I was watching football last weekend and I got an image on the TV screen that looked like an Impressionist painting. So I snapped a photo of it... ========================================================= Shot on a recent morning of a Hawker Hunter as the fog burner was taking its place in the sky ========================================================== Somebody liked their pumpkin this year ========================================================== Well, I am grateful to say I have no pictures of destruction, somewhat wistful that I have no adorable 3 year old children, and no canine buddies but I have a very regal cat. (Actually 4 but I won't bore the once again entirely male population with "kitties"). Annie ========================================================== Under the cathedral pines... ========================================================== Here is my 3 year old - taken with Canon G12 and available light. Used GIMP for a pencil effect (hence the grains). ========================================================== Taken yesterday... ========================================================== Last one .. My two reasons for being !! Along with all veterans, who served and are serving , in all branches. My dad and his sister. ========================================================== A few miles up the road from me is Beacon Rock, in the Columbia River Gorge. I was walking up the side of it one day, about 10 years ago, and snapped this with a basic digital camera. All on automatic settings. I have no idea how to adjust settings. ========================================================== Taken with available light with my iPhone4. ============================================================================ Again from Beacon Rock in the Columbia River Gorge, but this time from the river below, in my kayak. I have other shots w/o the kayak in it, but I intentionally left part of the kayak in the frame for this shot. I've never seen the river this glassy, before or since. ================================================================= Since it's Veteran's/Remembrance Day…..here I am…in the early 40s…at Camp Lee, Va., basic training.. ================================================ Compufortable (Canon Powershot ELPH S410 - Year 2004) =============================================================== A more recent photo….with the Stanley Cup in late July…brought to Ithaca, NY, by hometown hero Dustin Brown, Capt.
