Introduction Market Data Compact

Yesterday, MedPartners made its fourth major acquisition, InPhyNet. This gives MDM a strong presence in Florida, which complements their position in California. MDM is the largest physician practice management (PPM) company in the US, and analysts project annual earnings growth over the next five years to be 30-35%. The stock is presently trading at about 18 times estimated 1997 earnings, a substantial discount to its growth rate and peer group.

Any thoughts on the prospects for this company?
