(OTC:SQSI), a leading provider of dietary-management- software systems announced an increase in demand for its product by long-term care (LTC) facilities and also new interest from hospitals for internal use and for ''Meals on Wheels'' programs. Arlington Memorial Hospital of Arlington, Texas, a 350-bed acute-care facility, has scheduled implementation of the SureQuest Hospital Dietary Management System in September. The hospital had competitor software in place for a number of years with limited results. The hospital is replacing the competitor software with the complete SureQuest Hospital Dietary System. The company has received increased attention from hospitals over the past two months due to increased advertising and the failure of some competitors to implement and support their software. The company expects this increase in interest from hospitals to continue and to translate to sales demand. The company is also installing a system to manage the ''Meals on Wheels'' program for a Wisconsin hospital in September. The company currently has a customer base of 145 accounts, which include 85 LTC facilities on the monthly re-occurring rental plan (as opposed to an outright purchase of the software and computer). This re-occurring revenue base increased from 24 to 85 accounts in the last 12 months, up 354 percent. Another 10 facilities have the system installed and are evaluating. Almost all facilities evaluating become software customers. On Aug. 28, the company announced the addition of 23 accounts at Health Care Facilities Inc., which will bring the total to 101 monthly accounts. Several accounts are piloting for corporate chains, which represent a large number of facilities. Based on continuing discussions, the company expects to furnish software to the balance of facilities in those chain accounts. SureQuest Systems supplies menu services to 80 LTC facilities. Revenue in this segment is up 22 percent over August 1996, and sales of paper products used in conjunction with the software are up 100 percent over August 1996.
