ASHA is an automotive engineering company headquartered in Southern
California. Its board of directors includes retired executives of Ford,.
Chrysler and Saab. The company has fully developed and is about to
commercialize two automotive technologies that can realistically be called
"revolutionary". They are a system of traction control for 2 and 4 wheel
drive vehicles, called "Gerodisc" and a platform for manufacturing
ultra-low cost vehicles for the 3d world. which they call the "ABC Car --
Asha Body Concept", also called the World Car.

The Gerodisc is a hydromechanical traction control device that is a
substantial improvement over today's electronic devices and costs
substantially less. It has been thoroughly tested and is being licensed to
Tier One OEM manufacturers. New Venture Gear will supply Gerodixc to
Chrysler for inclusion in the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Other domestic and
foreign manufacturers are expected to follow suit. Eventually, unless a
superior technology emerges, Gerodisc will be standard equipment on most
automotive vehicles on the road. ASHA is expected to earn $3 to $10 for
each installation.

The ABC car utilizes an unconventional, labor-intensive construction
process designed for third world countries. As described in a November,
1997 research report by H. J. Meyers & Co. (Steve Loewengart,
212-412-8266), which has a buy recommendation on ASHA: "Designed into this
car are economy of operation, durability and sturdiness to withstand the
rigor of poor road conditions and harsh environments...simplicity of
production assembly through use of composite materials...largely eliminated
are the needs for painting...and electric power due to modular
components..." A factory has been constructed in Jaixing City, China which
is beginning to produce cars that will be used as taxis. A design feature
allows the use of a wide variety of engines.
