Environmental Elements is a company with a futuristic technology that is being used by the militiary and industry for rapid, environmental safe decontamination. It's called "glow discharge plasma".
According to their Dec. 8th press release regarding the contract with the US Air Force the company stated:
The ''plasma'' is generated with alternating current electrical energization and appears as a glow on the surface where it is generated. Using this glow discharge plasma, UT has been successful in sterilizing microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, and spores. The plasma can be switched on-and-off, is portable, produces no toxic byproducts, and sterilizes contaminants in less than one minute. UT is a subcontractor to EEC on this project.
Current sterilization techniques utilize high temperatures, strong chemicals, and/or ultraviolet radiation. These methods may require insulated chambers, take hours to decontaminate or sterilize surfaces, produce toxic waste fluid, and risk eye damage. ''These are undesirable side effects, particularly in combat situations,'' said E.H. Verdery, EEC President and Chief Executive Officer.
''The future applications of this technology go far beyond military applications,'' said EEC's Verdery. ''Hospital implements and surfaces, food items, and imported goods, which often stand idle while the more time- consuming, current methods are applied, may quickly be decontaminated by exposure to a plasma.''
The company has been specializing in air pollution control systems for over 50 years.The product mentioned above is one of many.
The companies stock has been rocketing recently from $2.5 in mid November to over $4 with no pull back. Float is only 3.5M
