On May 7, 1998, Quick Response reported flat sales and in-line earnings for the first quarter. Shares promptly fell 21%. ''I'm hoping this is just a one-quarter blip,'' said Michael Chung, an analyst with Williams Capital Group LP. ''There's a lot of expectation built into the stock, particularly with all the optimism over Internet-related stocks recently.'' QRSI was then downgraded to short-term ''market perform'' from short-term ''buy'' by analyst David H. Keil at Robinson-Humphrey Co. Inc.
