Coast Dental has received quite a haircut lately, after announcing their expansion will hurt earnings. Briefing.com featured it as one of their story stocks recently, saying it's a good value since they expect to be below analysts' earnings by only 2 cents (-11%), yet fell from the low 20's to the current 14 9/32 (-32%). Comparing CDEN to MDDS I rate it an intermediate buy: I believe it should be valued around $18 1/2. MDDS enjoys a healthy PE ratio of 38 while CDEN lingers at 24. Taking a look at the Earnings Yield, CDEN returns around 4.2% compared to MDDS 2.6%. My initial core holding was started with 500 shares at 14 1/2 and will gradually accumulate when I free up my funds. I would like to hear other's opinions on CDEN...it's not usually volatile or particularly interesting, but it has a lot of potential - afterall, everyone needs to go to the dentist sometime.
