I wonder if people would invest in stocks that bought land in the Redwood Forest or Amazon forest.... protecting it from the lumber companies, farmers, ranchers and developers? Seems like saving the old growth forests and the animals in them would be a good investment in everybodies future. Someday I would not be suprised if some company kills off or saves a species of plant or animal because they may hold the key to future drug or biotechnology patents. With so many mutual funds and stocks that don't turn a profit around I should be able to buy a stock in "Save to Coral Reefs" or "Save the Redwoods" and write it off on my taxes. Maybe with enough investors we could buy Oregon or Brazil.
