Do you know the French say tous or vous.
It is a form of address distinguished by a level of respect.
To our friends, our compatriots, the people we know and like, our peers if you will, well they are tous.
To those who require the garb of respect and dignity, well, those people are vous, it is not that we don't love them as well, it is a state that is more reserved.
In English, we would put it this way.
You or You.
In cyberspace, we would speak French, if we could, and everybody is a vous, who could become a tous.
