Analysts quoted on Friday say that many subprime mortgage lenders may go to zero, and what is going on with such venerable players as United Companies (NYSE: UC) and FirstPlus (NYSE:FP) may lead us to believe that this prediction may be accurate.

This thread is for the discussion of this industry--which will survive, and which will not survive? Are there screaming buys out there among the wounded, or is the entire market segment on its last legs?
