SoftLock.Com (SLCK) www.softlock.com is a development stage company that has a proprietary encryption technology that can be used by companies that want to sell content over the Internet. McGraw-Hill and John Wiley are already selling "softlocked" products. Because the company went public via a reverse split, it hasn't had the fanfare associated with recent Internet IPOS. Accordingly, it doesn't have a ridiculous valuation like many of the Internet stocks. With the current feeding frenzy that surrounds Internet stocks, it would be worthwhile to conduct some due diligence on SLCK. In one sense, SLCK can be thought of as a long term option play on the Internet. The company is in the process of implementing its business plan and we should start to see more publishing concerns "softlocking" their products next year. SLCK provides content providers with a method of encouraging distribution of their products while protecting them from being pirated. Walt | ||||||||||||||
