The advances in computer and telecommunication technology have dramatically lowered securities transaction costs and techniques. A byproduct of this ongoing change is political stress among market participants, organizations, and regulatory agencies.

This thread is for discussion of what is happening, what ought to happen, and what is likely to happen to the structures and rules of the securities markets.
